Snapper and Salmon in Port Melbourne
Hey guys,
Just uploaded my latest vid, went back to port melbourne to look for some more snapper and was rewarded with a couple of nice fish before a school of salmon moved into the area and I spent the remainder of the session targeting them.

Thanks for watching,
Cheers Alex

Re: Snapper and Salmon in Port Melbourne
Thanks mate,
The snapper and a handful of salmon were on the jiggle fishing 4" curl worm in watermelon, the majority of the salmon were on a zman 2.5" slim swim in bad shad and most of the salmon I caught when I thought I was filming but wasn't were on a zman diezel minnow in bad shad.

Ahhh.. that old chestnut were on first name basis now lmao.
Good job on those fish. Were the salmon big sized ones..
Have you had a chance to compare those Millers against the black labels and battlers you have. Obvious millers are a better rod, but how much better are they when comparing prices.
Cheers

Re: Snapper and Salmon in Port Melbourne
Real mix of size classes on the salmon. Biggest was around 60 and smallest was about 20. Few distinct size classes though with 20s and 40s making up the majority.purple5ive wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 4:06 pmAhhh.. that old chestnut were on first name basis now lmao.

Millers are better than the daiwas imo, price point wise they sit around the commanders or under depending on which model you are looking at.

Re: Snapper and Salmon in Port Melbourne
Sorry for the late reply on this one, port melbourne is a pretty good area for getting into kayaking. The biggest thing I would say is to watchout for anything coming from a southerly direction this lets waves build up across almost the entire bay and you can get some pretty nasty stuff pushing into that area
