Portland

Post by 4liters » Fri Jan 01, 2021 9:25 am

Went one my now annual camping trip to Portland between Christmas and New Years.

Water was a bit cold still for kings although there had been some sporadic reports, and I've recently sold and haven't yet replaced the kayak I had that was suited for big trips out wide - as such my chances of getting any kings or tuna were fairly minimal but slightly higher than if I'd stayed at home.

Highlights - catching lots of fish, successfully trying out a couple of new techniques, getting away from home for a while

Lowlights - losing a collapsible bucket, landing net and floating aerator over the side of the yak, no kings or tuna, fuckwits at the campsite partying until 3am

The squid were all a bit big for the improvised livewell

It's a Kaiser Baas X250.

I can't see it here but there's a few that I guess are similar: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/collections/c ... as-cameras

It was about $80 from memory

Yeah it's not bad, it can make the horizon look a bit funny at times but otherwise I'm quite happy with it.

Some of those photos were taken with the iPhone, the camera in it is a bit ****** though so some of them are a bit out of focus.

All the pictures from the fake GoPro have the date and time at the bottom of the image:
