Tailor on a Tallywacker

Post by 4liters » Wed Oct 21, 2020 2:58 pm

So todays garfish trip didn't go to plan due to a complete lack of garfish. Pretty annoying because all the gars I'd collected are now destined to be fertilizer due to a bait freezer mishap but at least there's a couple more months to catch some replacements before kingy season is upon us.

Looking for something else to do I ended up in the Swan Ba entrance and started flicking a dicklure around. First cast came up solid and after a bit of a tussle I had a salmon in the net. The fish were hard to find but when you found them they were gagging for it. A couple more salmon came up for a lewinsky and then something took off like a freight train. Turned out I'd hooked a 50cm-ish tailor which by some fluke didn't give me the Lorena Bobbitt treatment. It took a while to get it in the net as I was using whiting gear, but got there in the end. One more salmon after that and it was time to call it a morning.

Nice effort, would’ve been a cracker morning to be out. Looks like the fish were peckish for peckers

That's a nice tailor. Glad you didn't get your dong bitten off.
