21st & 23rd September

Post by Sneaky1 » Fri Sep 23, 2022 5:32 pm

First days of kayak-friendly weather - so I've decided to venture out. Both times morning, incoming tide & overcast:
21/09 - seven pinkies on SP, a micro-salmon, squid didn't want to play
23/09 - two micro pinkies on SP & HB, no squid, a few boats moving around, don't think they were getting anything either...
Water's warmer than reported on weather sites - or my sounder is too optimistic!

I wad fishing at Portarlington couple weeks ago and water temp was around 14°in shallow around 5m but out deep it was around 12 so going to be couple weeks at least before it hits 16 our deep so may pay to try early season on shallow at night I think
