Persistence!

Have a talk to them at Fishing Fever.

The best sign that the gars are about are scales on the pier.

hey Snapper222 i put my garfish setup away about 2 months ago i was catching good mini marlin very early this season and were a better size than the year before so your probably struggling at the pier because there not really around thats my opinion as for mordi pier fish left side last 15 metres of the pier burley up after a while if no enquires time to go home

I’ve always done better with calmer conditions, so maybe steer clear when the winds up

Was at st helens boat ramp in geelong last month, saw plenty good size gars on the surface at night. Saw some pikes following them too, didnt bring any gear or them so just watched them loiter around.
