Yeah, you got it: I was mostly using unpeeled chunks of prawn as I figured the shell would help it stay in the hook better. And I did indeed pull the line in a couple of times to find the crustacean equivalent of a crushed and discarded Coke can.

When I am chasing the Bream down there I find they will take the prawn or chicken fillet but that the chicken fillet lasts longer than the prawn if the bait fish are around. I just buy peeled prawn from the supermarket and use that. It is usually fresher and better for bait.

went to Mordy tonight with my mate and my gf, pretty awsome!! we got 2 pinkies for less than a hour. and i saw someone at the end of the pier had about 10 pinkies. however, the wind really strong and fuckin cold, anyway it worth to go.

I've been catching lots of legal pinkies off Hampton Pier next to Sandringham Yacht club! Also been getting busted and hook straightened by some BIG rays, fishing on a running rig, size 3/0 hook and using pillies, tommy ruffe and yellow eyed mullet as bait
