it was from my boat, was a good day, they we kept 42 and filleted with skins off, took a god damm hr to clean them all.
we must have put double the amount back that were just under size

good effort guys, thanks for coming out.

was loads of fun looking forward to going again whenever you ready smile. and as for filleting the gar i dont i just scale them cut off the head gut them and roll over them a few times with a rolling pin to break up the bones. then i just roll them in corn meal and some cajun spice and pan fry them.

I have a little trick I use for de-boning Garfish...........
Depending on the size of the gar, use a coke bottle or a Gatorade bottle, slightly sharpen the rim of the bottle and slide the spine down into the bottle. Once you get the hang of it you can get a pretty clean Gar ready for cooking.
