Brighton Breakwall - yummy gummy for my tummy...

Post by nhillboy » Fri Oct 04, 2013 4:49 pm

Hi all Posting this for my mate George as he is not up to speed with the photo side of things. George got to Brighton breakwall Thursday afternoon at 2pm and he was lucky to find a spot. the whole of the breakwall was already packed (high tide about 2pm)...Nothing really got landed by anyone except for 1 snapper 2-3kg. Weed was still a problem getting all over the hooks. George had nibbles at times from little pinkys and his moment of glory was at night around 8.30pm i think (low tide) landing a nice Gummy on a full pilchard, 4/0 hook. The Gummy was just short of 1 metre in lenth. He would like to thank the other 2 fishos who helped him bring it out of the water before his line snapped, lucky boy..
Because George rang me about Brighton being packed i ended up at Sandringham breakwall. Was 1 other fisho there at 4pm who had fled from Brighton. A few other fishos turned up later, 1 landing a 45-50cm snapper on the marina side near the end and another getting busted off at the rocks by a 60cm fish. Myself, i was getting my full pilchards picked at by little pinkys all session and hooking a large ray after dark. Bumped into Raulfc7 as well who did not see much action either. Weed was not a problem at Sandy which was good to see. Conditions were nice and choppy early 15 knots Sth. Sth.W and eased after dark. Goerge and i are still waiting for our turn to land a nice 50cm plus snapper as we have seen many posts now of other fellow fishos with their great catches...
*** from my position at Sandy i could see the 3 rock Groynes at Hampton and all 3 were packed with fishos....
