I'd planned to fish into dark before it started bucketing down with rain, a hassle when fishing off the rocks at the end, so only managed to be there about an hour or two before the rain got too much with lightning and thunder. Saw some kayakers out from the rockwall who braved the conditioned and were hopefully rewarded.
However managed to catch nothing, maybe some small bites but it was a bit hard to tell, however lots of action around the marina with baitfish being chased and some jumping.. might head back there again later this week.
Tried pilchards and some soft plastics...
Anyone have any success down here or can point me in the right area to fish from the rockwall, was my first time down there and I was pretty clueless where to go.. did see some big scales down the end off the rocks which was a promising sign.
Headed out to sandy rockwall yesterday before getting rained out

Just like anywhere else, some days are better than the others.
Couple weeks ago or so, people were catching good size fish there.
What you saw probably salmon chasing baitfish. Throwing metal lure or plastic usually works.

I will give it another crack, assuming on pillies, how do you hook them up so they don't just fall off haha or if anyone else knows, let me know!Lightningx wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 12:26 pmI’ve caught some nice snapper off the end there in the past mate.

I’ve caught on various different baits. Fresh squid being best. Pillies on double 4/0 gama hooks and 2 half hitches around the tail.wishtofish wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 12:58 pmI will give it another crack, assuming on pillies, how do you hook them up so they don't just fall off haha or if anyone else knows, let me know!Lightningx wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 12:26 pmI’ve caught some nice snapper off the end there in the past mate.
