Snag city.

Be prepared to tie up rigs multiple times. Bring 100 sinkers, 200 hooks and a few hundred meters of leader material. That place eats sinkers and rigs.

Not a place for many.

Few squid and occasional snapper/pinkies around but like fc said it's full of snags. If I were you i'd just walk south for 5 minutes and fish sandy break wall. Flat bottom and deeper, produces a lot more fish especially in summer.

Yeah I don't have any surf rods, I went there last Saturday morning and got swamped by toadies, they even had a go at pilchard and I caught 3 flicking plastics as well

Did you fish the pier, off the beach or from the breakwall? each place can be fished differently. On the breakwall you barely need surf rods, if you can get a spot at the end of the wall theres about 3-4m deep water about 10m away from your feet, as well as the channel into the marina.

I fished the breakwall, but I couldn't keep the baits in the water for more than 10 minutes before a toadie started nibbling
