It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Live report. Sandringham.
Been fishing since 1:30pm, was hoping a flathead or whiting but caught tons of undersized pinkies instead. Yes they're still around. But.... Caught two of 29cm and 32.5cm. One on fresh squid caught at Mt Martha yesterday and the other on surf popper!

Now I'm out of bait, darn those undersized pinkies!
Saw couple flashes in the sky... That's it, I'm out of here.

Two young couple said fishing in the morning and caught whiting and flathead.

Dont think I will get any whitings this year... I want whitings!
Not complaining about the two pinkies though. Mrs be happy.
Nice work on the pinkies.
In terms of effectiveness, whats fresh caught squid vs tackleshop frozen squid strips like? would it be worth my while to buy a squid jig or two and have a flick around brighton pier?
Well, I've caught most of my big snappers or big pinkies on fresh squid head (all landbased) when others not catching. Though, I also caught one on a frozen whiting from shop. Others also catch on frozen pillies etc.
I think when they're a bit fussy, freshness makes a difference.

Yeah, go catch some squids. It's fun. Usually I keep the hood to eat and use the head as bait, and the tentacles and all.
