So just Wade until you're around shin deep and cast towards the dropoff? How deep is the water just before the dropoff?

Also how would you suggest I protect my phone and wallet in case I trip and full over ?
The depth of the water depends on the tide but is usually ankle-shin deep at the tide change, would be knee-deep at most. Double ziplock-bagging your phone and wallet will probably suffice because if you slip it wont be submerged for long.
Cheers, thanks for the advice :)

How deep do you reckon it is at high tide?
I don't know actually. I'd stick to low tide because it's usually the best time to target flathead and when I have my best sessions targeting them LB.
Also would you recommend wearing shoes or is going barefeet alright there?

Start of the run in tide is good. I like GULPs but I honestly dont' think it really matters. If you can get out there at first light and fish until you can see the sun in the sky you should do well.
