Hunting for flounder

Post by Joker91 » Thu Sep 22, 2022 11:45 pm

Hey guys - So I’m on a mission at the moment to get a flounder while wading. At this stage I’ll take any fish!

So we headed off to Brighton earlier tonight and as you can guess for nothing. Saw plenty of toads, few banjo sharks and that’s about it.

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

I used to get them around the end of Parkers Rd in Parkdale and on the north side of the Mordi Pier, there was a bit of shallow reef in these areas and you get them on the sand at the edge of the reef. Best time is dawn or dusk, maybe at night with a light. This was decades ago but could still be worth a try, also they were around Rickets Pt but this is a Marine Park these days.
Good Luck.
