Swan Bay gumbos

I launched the yak from Swan bay ramp early Friday afternoon to allow time to grab some bait from the entrance then settled down and waited for the fun to start. The pests were out in force during daylight hours, and I had the biggest black ray I've ever seen circling the yak. After dark at the bottom of the tide I got a couple of gummies in fairly quick succession and after unwrapping the second one from the anchor rope I headed in.

They made a bit of a mess of the yak, although I assume this afternoon's storm washed it all off

Good size gumbos.

Yeah that place is crowded with rays and banjos. I remember last time I went there I pulled a monster banjo and fought like hell in 2m water. I honestly thought I hooked a nice gummy.

Did those two banjos fight hard? They seem to fight hard in shallow water.

Nah they went on a short run but I was using the heavier rods (more so to handle the bycatch than the target) so they didn't put up much resistance.
