Targeting Gummy Shark
Targeting Gummy Shark
Hey all, looking for some advice about targeting gummy's by boat in westernport. I'll try keep it as short as i can but i tend to babble on a bit so forgive me. Last winter i felt i had worked it out but starting to think i was just getting lucky. How do people consistently catch gummy's. I'll add a photo of where we've been fishing. Tried both incoming and outgoing tides, classic westernport rigs, fresh squid and yakka as bait. Just can't seem to get one. We caught 11 banjos last trip sitting on this spot and not a single desirable fish or gummy. I'm sure we're not doing too much wrong but some people seem to nail them every time, big ones too. Even tried in a spot i've fished successfully before for gummies, catching to in the first hour last time. Never got them there again and have fished there three times since. These spot are all near hasting/stony point. Please help (:

Re: Targeting Gummy Shark
Gunna weigh in, fish bigger baits, live baits. Live yakka would be a gun bait. chance foe a mulloway too. Multiple banjos means your bait is too small or too soft. Good luck.
