Throw me some recommendations guys, my trusty decade old pliers have just about had it. They can barely cut braided lines now, instead they leave half of the strands fluffed up in a ball. New set must also be able to cut braid, straight nose or bent doesn't really matter. No need for split ring capability but not fussed if they have it. Budget is whatever within reason, provided they last. And they can't be to bulky

I have these ima pliers, they come in two sizes. I have the smaller ones which I think are 6.5''.
They cut both braid and mono pretty well but won’t stay as sharp as braid scissors will. Very light and haven’t rusted in the couple years I have owned them, and I thrash them. There’s probably better options if you want them for bigger hooks like stickbaits etc but for bream to Barra size lures they’re really good.

I use a pair of 7” stainless long nose pliers for removing hooks and a pair of braid scissors to cut line.
I found that the braid cutter on the pliers wasn’t that good and the scissors are easier to use.

I'm rather partial to the anodized Chinese steel pair I got from kmart. Won't cut braid but defintely cut the mustard and rip hooks out of fish like no one's business. Just keep them well lubricated and you're all good.

I picked up a pair of daiwa splitring pliers a few months back, they open literally anything. 440lb splitties no probs, will post a pic in the morning.

I've tried the separate scissors idea but on those quick 60 minute trips where only the bare essentials is needed them and pliers made the back pocket uncomfortable. Those Imas look the goods but arent readily available anymore. These are the ones that need replacing

Well yes and no. They have split ring pliers on the end and are skitz. But yeah I forgot the whole pliers bit. Lol

I’ve since replaced em with a pair of surgical clamps (haemostatic forceps) Stainless steel. Strong. Cheap and can get down deep for hook outs. Plus they have scissors on them.
