Fishing in the plenty river

Post by theJono » Thu Jan 05, 2023 4:20 pm

I'm new to fishing, and have been trying to fish in the part of the plenty river near Apollo Parkways, but after about 10 hours in the past 2 weeks I haven't gotten any bites. I have been using a sinker-swivel-leader-hook setup, and at the start I used some little grub lures, but after not bites, today I used corn and worm bits, but still got no bites. Does anyone know what rig I should use? Or is it my location, as while I have seen fish jumping out of the water there, it may just be a bad spot.

Lots of carp in there.
Burley up first, find some of the larger pools, toss out a couple of cans of creamed corn.
Freeline bread , with no sinker.
or freeline corn with no sinker

Bites can be just subtle line movements. Keep an eye out and strike
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

snowfall can impact the water temperature and flow rate in rivers and lakes, which can in turn impact the behavior of fish. In some cases, heavy snowfall may result in more runoff and increased water flow, which can create ideal conditions for certain species of fish. On the other hand, extremely cold temperatures or prolonged snow cover on the water's surface can make it more difficult for fish to feed, and may result in slower fishing activity.
