I’m thinking of investing in a travel rod in the 2-4 kg range and about 7’.
Any recommendations?

Bone Voyage travel rod.
It's 4 piece, so you can still fold in half when moving spots. It doesn't feel like a multi piece rod.

yep, bone make a good multipiece rod. but they are not cheap.
if you want something to bang around then look at the gen black travel, td hyper travel or abu veritas travel.

I don't mind some of the savage gear stuff. It's usually pretty good and slightly underrated. If you just want something decent without breaking the bank then it's a good option. Put it this way, it won't break and is probably just as good as stuff like the veritas and any other travel rod in that price range.

I'd choose veritas travel over savage gear.
