Yes .I was in the Geelong Camera Club years ago and there was a near punch up at a GM over Digital Pfhotography vs Film-The 2 guys were in there late 50s

Been a few scandals throughout the years I remember reading about a high profile tournament angler weighing in fish from his private dam.

I think I watched a documentary on this - an American angler was caught growing bass in an aquarium in his garage, then hiding the bass in a hidden live well in his boat. He would then drive to the comp with the bass hidden in the boat, then once out of sight transfer the bass to the proper live well, and weigh it in at the end of the comp. I don’t recall what it was called but was interesting
