Trout, successful invasive species?

Trout are the one fish I always find myself laughing at.
Technically, the environmentally correct move would be to catch and not release them, they're invasive and a competitive species towards our native species.

On the other hand, they're a great resource, wild taste alright on the plate and the wild populations are sustainably managed while proving economic benefit and enjoyment to many.

If we've got a wild population that allows people to catch a feed sustainably, that's awesome. Isn't that the dream for all fish populations?
