Well done mate. Great write up - always good to read about people starting out - those first few fish you’ll remember forever - just a massive buzz
Good on you for persisting so long

Haha … you bet. Coincidentally my first bream on lure was on a micro vibe that I was jigging on the bottom, bored out of my mind, totally frustrated with the impossibility of it all and expecting yet another docklands donut haha.
Haven’t been there for ages … can you still get to Greggo’s pole ?

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman
Haha. Sadly no, that area's been closed off for a while now. I fished that section last week in the yak and had a chuckle to myself.
There was quite a large crew fishing the Docks back in the day. A few of the now high profile guys were part of that crew, learnt their lure fishing skills on the fussy Docks Bream. Alex and I had a night time nostalgia session in there a few months ago, guess what...Donuts!

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman
They were definitely the days. I was debating some
night time blading myself but last time I half heartedly looked North Wharf looked closed off and the pontoons gone, central is closed and they also closed off the pontoons at the end of docklamds drive. Doesn’t leave much left …. Maybe the pontoon by the chippy but and I guess there’s always whitecaps but all in all it’s a fraction of what used to be available. Might have to throw the paddleboard in at this rate.
