Weird looking but really tasty fish

This has to be one of the weirdest looking fish in the sea but it is also one of my most favorite eating fish

Haha while these ones do have some sharp spines they are not at all poisonous...

Helicolenus percoides is the super spiked p**** of a thing that's also quite tasty.

Lepidotrigla vanessa is the pretty looking one that doesn't have as many spines.

Pterygotrigla polyommata is almost as pretty as Vanessa, but also has 2 sharp spikes protruding from its upper jaw.

All 3 are quite tasty and sometimes referred to as poor mans crayfish

Interesting to know! the ones I catch have a couple of spike on each side of their head, near the gill plate area that you do have to watch out for
