Should Jet Skis be banned for Port Phillip Bay?

Post by Mattblack » Tue Dec 22, 2020 8:10 am

Is it just me, or is there a lot more jetskis buggerising around in Port Phillip bay this year?

Banning seems a bit extreme and leads to other bans. I’d like to see more of a police presence around the boat ramps and out on the water. Educate people and a bit of PR at the same time, but if the few don’t comply, “Bookem Danno”.

There just needs to be a big pen for them in the middle of the bay where they can’t annoy anyone.

Those things are just annoying.
I find myself complaining about them almost everytime I head out with the boat.

Saw some a while back that were literally going flat stick right next to some diver buoys.

As much as I may like this probably not. Would prefer to see some way of enforcing a 250m restriction zone from any structure / shoreline other than launching and retrieving.

As long as enforcement involves a comically large cannon full of frozen couta

They need to be banned from launching & retrieving as well. These ar$e clowns take forever on the ramp & then block all jetty/pontoon access as they sit there taking selfies and sipping on energy drinks.

We often tell the joke 'he's got a ford Raptor and a jetski, but i'm sure he's a good bloke'

They should add a law where boats and jet skis can’t come within 100m of a pier because the fish their already are skittish and a boat / jetski comes past and scared of all the fish that where their maybe have selected piers that are exceptions like Mornington on the marina side etc but this is just my opinion
