I just upgraded my pe 4-8 assassin to a PE 8-10 Shimano World Stage popping rod.

When IP got home, first thing she wanted to do when i told her was grab it and have me run accross out backyard with the line to see how it balanced / loaded up comparably to the assassin.

Also, I think my old rod has been taxed and now i'm going to have to buy her a reel to go with it.

The 4-8 assassin is a perfect rod for targetting something like a longtail with a chance of hooking a spanish, or any normal kind of king spinning we do on the south coast. It's not stiff enough to fight big kingfish or GT's, which is what i'm looking for because I have another rod I use for stickbaiting which I like better.

This thing feels like if you needed to club a bear to death with it it'd get the job done. The spool of my gosa 20 is hard to turn with my hands and it the rod feels like it's got another 50% to go. Any other rod I own i'd be worried about breaking.

I should throw a shout out to Mark at TWmorno for recommending it and giving me a damn good price as well. I was going to order a PE 10 FCL labo but this was less than half the price of any other PE10 rod i've seen.
