Corona virus part 2

Post by purple5ive » Wed Mar 18, 2020 6:54 pm

Well.
Looks like the old one went walk abouts.
Try and keep this one clean ferals!!
.

So in breaking news.
Just found out people are travelling in buses to rural areas and stripping the supermarket shelves there as well.
So much for thinking that the rural communities were only filled with Aussie shoppers...
Be a sad sight when old mate turns up to buy some groceries and has a hissy fit!!!

Scomo has issued a category 4 restriction to travel. Aka no travelling overseas!!!
People who have booked holidays overseas are in limbo now.
Few mates have had to reschedule their holidays..

Also no mass gathering of more than 100 people inside a room and 500 people outdoors..
Which means many people now have wedding and such events cancelled.
My mate the poor bugger is shitting bricks cause he is getting married in 3 or so months..

Many people have been asked to start working from home.
The memes on Facebook are already A++++

Personally I believe that its up to individuals to start thinking about what they are doing and altering their behaviour. Government restrictions will only do so much.
For me I am trying to minimize my interaction with people outside of a reasonably small core group, largely made up of members of my household, the point of this is to try and reduce my likelihood of contracting anything but more importantly it reduces how many people I can infect if I do get it. This may seem a bit extreme to some but just look at where thinking everything was fine got other countries and the reality is it isn't that hard to do and is much better than the alternative.

Personally I think people need to stop shopping if they have more than their needs for a couple of days.

This daily stripping of the shelves isn’t helping anyone. Not to mention super irresponsible to just be heading to public places daily. You’re trying to avoid getting the bloody flu not speeding it up.

what you are doing Alex, is probably what many of us should be doing tbh!!
ive been trying to minimize contact with large groups like shopping centers and the likes, but with 2 five year olds at home, im constantly having to get stuff.

i agree ducky, but theres always a few that want to capitalize on the situation!!!
stop hoarding ffs..

Glad you made a second topic hopefully it doesn't get derailed.

The raiding of rural area supermarkets is something I have witnessed myself and am well aware is happening across the state with empty shelves and supermarket staff getting increasingly exhausted as well as being treated poorly by quite a few customers. Interestingly Baseball bats are getting sold out of a few sports stores people are worried that the selfish behaviour will become something more sinister.

As for the elephant in the room a caller to abc talkback mentioned the race of a busload he saw show up at his local township the radio presenter hung up on him. Personally I have no problem with people recalling what they have witnessed in my case the loaded trolleys have been from various generations and demographics.

Very disappointed is an understatement from me...
Boony and red would have had a field day with this..

I also seen another post with a whole pallet of baby formula at the docks ready to depart for Hong Kong.
In the midst of this pandemic people are still out to.make money
I really don't know what they want all the toilet paper for tbh.....

edit...
The pic and related page was supposedly a bait page and made to provoke racism.
i have removed the pic, sorry guys.

Unfortunately when this happens it stigmatises everyone from that demographic.

This is very appaling !!!
There were times when I had to go looking from shop to shop to find baby formula for my kids, they could only be fed on formula and being twins I needed 2 tins per transaction of different types of formula as they couldn't have the same type..
This kind of **** really does **** me off
And you winder why the certain type of ethnic people get targeted..
