What would one write in regards to an email, If they dont fish the area but want it to remain open to fisherman?
Alternatively..
Would a petition including peoples digitally signed names and a general body covering the use of the yarra as a fishing destination be a better idea?

I doubt many will personally email. Special ones that dont fish it. A mass signed petition might generate more votes in favour via social media I would think.

Cheers

An email carries more weight because of the effort put into writing it.

Just say you’re a keen fisherman and you don’t want to lose the chance to fish these spots for trophy species like bream

Should all the news media channels be alerted to the proposed fishing ban on the Yarra ? channel 7 /10 /9 ... easy to send an email to them to look into it.
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:

You can try but I’m not sure it’d gain much traction while NSW is burning to the ground

We are at a stage now where the consultation has been reopened so I believe the best avenue is to write in and voice your concerns.

They also said in their statement that we (recreational fishers) weren't the target of the proposal and I believe this indicates that the proposed changes weren't malicious towards fishos but rather ignored us, because we weren't the issue, without considering ramifications.

Great news guys. The consultation period has been reopened. Now we need people who fish the area (or don’t like the idea of being locked out) to submit an email.

Suggestions for an email: Briefly talk about
A) What fishing the Yarra and its bridges mean to you and how long you’ve been doing it
B) How often you fish there and how you fish there (i.e. how you get out of the way/ are aware of current laws)
C) if you believe you cause a safety issue or if one even exists
D) Would many people be upset if fishing here was banned?
