we have seen some fishin shows chasing marlin. when they get em to the boat. does the deckhand use a pole to tag the fish. if so, are the fish monitored and how dos the fisho cut the line, somehow with the pole? it all happens so quick :dontknow

Not overly new to fishing, but new to saltwater.

Just wondering if anyone can give an overview on the effect of the tides on fishing? Any links to articles even?

Cheers

I just purchased some Black Magic KS4/0 hooks online from anaconda as I had a voucher.

Just wondering if I'm fishing from a pier are these hooks too big to use? Mordialloc Pier.

Also got some Platypus Pretest 10kg line if anyone has any opinions on it.

cheers

4/0 hooks are good size for snapper and most flatties will swallow them whole as well

As for the platypus line, they seem to make pretty good stuff my old man had it on one of his 4000's and never had a problem, guess the best way to find out is use it for a bit and see how you like it

Cheers mate, so do you think Pinkies will take the hook or just full blown snapper?

Thanks again
