Re: How do you respond??
Each to their own. I'm the only person I know that doesn't like golf.
Something I've learnt about introducing people to fishing, make it short and sweet. Give them just a taste (an hour or 2), provide a few nibbles and refreshments & be a good host. Nothing worse than going out with a seasoned angler that keeps telling you to be quite and refuses to compromise if the weather gets nasty etc.
Like most drugs, it takes a while until your addicted.

You’re not the only one!
I’m definitely not a golfer either. Tried it a few times and do not like it!

Re: How do you respond??
I fish to relax and get some exercise. I gave up drinking and smoking years back and so called mates I had then dropped off because I chose to go fishing instead of going to the pub with them, no loss really. I love fishing on my own but especially enjoy meeting up and fishing with the guys I've met through fishing and this forum. The walks along, up and down the river banks can be strenuous but it's good exercise and that I wasn't getting from spending time in the pub. I haven't been out a lot lately due to personal circumstances but soon I'll be back out doing what I like to do and I won't let anyone criticise me for that, cheers davo.
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Re: How do you respond??
Theres nothing more i like than to be on a remote estuary on a boat of course exploring the area and casting away. fish is a bonus, but the scenery is usually stunning and thats more than enough for me.. i have been to and seen places and things that i could only dream of because of fishing. some of the local wildlife and also scenery and fish pics i have taken are definitely worth the effort i put into it at the time, as now i can sit back and look at it and feel like i was just there once again...
as for golf!! i lived next to a golf course when i was growing up in india..
it took me 38 years to try it for the first time last year...
i did enjoy it, just the tee off part . you do get to swing the **** outta the club and watch the ball disappear into the horizon (thats if you actually hit it in the first place ofcourse
)
i will def. be giving the driving range a visit sometime soon to take out some frustration !!!!!
