The US is just about the last place i'd want to be right now. Their cases are growing at an unprecedented rate and are on track to become the epicentre of the outbreak within a few days.

I agree.

And with an orange reality TV clown in charge I don't see things getting bought under control anytime soon.

I heard a Republican state governor (Missouri I think) has issued a state of emergency order to *overturn* existing stay at home orders put out by local governments within the state.

Absolutely crazy stuff. Wouldn't surprise me if their numbers were absolutely sky high compared to what's being reported. There were reports months back of cases in most major cities, and little to no testing.

I'm just looking at the data from the Vic Gov here. I am in Stonnington council area which (yippee?) is the worst affected in the state so far, according to their map. Looking at the data, almost all cases here came from people flying back from the USA.

If you are still uncertain then listen to what Tony Blakely is saying in this interview:

https://7news.com.au/sunrise/on-the-sho ... e-c-761439

At this point in time Australia has got a much better chance of pulling this off. Individual states might break ranks which is what tassie is doing. They are more isolated and are less well resourced to support critical cases so their response may be justified.

As Tony Blakely has pointed out New Zealand has a lower ratio of ICUs per head than this country which is one reason for their approach.

Flatten the curve too much and the impact to society is prolonged. No doubt governments will ere this way if it starts to get away from them.

Oldies, do your best to isolate.

Best Wishes
