Cohuna Murray River Advice

Post by LOOKINGFORYABBIES » Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:27 am

Hey all. I am planning a camping trip in about a month or 2 to the Murray in the cohuna area. Any advice on fishing there and what to size line to use etc. And if it is any good for fishing. Its one of my mates first time fishing so wanting to help her catch her first catch.

cod season opens the 1st of december, currently season is closed.
you will need a nsw fishing licence fishing from the victorian side of the bank.
i'd use worms or cheese on a 3/0 - 4/0 size hook 15-20lb mono line.

Also check Parks Vic website. A lot of this area (Vic side especially) is still closed for bush camping until end of Nov.

Having said that plenty of cod there. Cheese on 5/0 or bigger. Just have to work through the carp to get them
