Looks like Barwon heads and surrounds are going to get a lot more busier offshore fishing..

I wonder if all that noise and vibration generated will drive the pelagics and the likes away from the area.
Would be a shame if it did as the place is just starting to thrive like it used to..

don't they say it takes more energy to produce a wind turbine than it can generate in its service life?

No, the energy required to build the turbine payback time is 6 to 9 months.

We use rattling/vibrating lures to attract fish. :-D Unfortunately they will be swimming mad looking for a lure they can't find. :rf: Imagine what will happen if you drop something in the water. :-D

The pylons will attract marine life. Check out some stories about people being proven wrong about the effects of artificial structures in the water.

It says birds, not eagles. Where did you get the impression they were all Eagles?

2000-8000 birds a year in all of Australia. On top of that, the reference in the document cited is actually a reference to a claim being made by the author from an article that she wrote herself. All of the remaining supported evidence is sourced from a report prepared by AGL, who are, suprisingly enough, a gas company.

The language in that actual report is really really interesting to read. Lot's of 'estimated' and 'approximately' and no actual data on anything.

Hahaha yeah these are a very different sort of vibration :rf:
Structure will always be a good thing 100%
Be good to get some before and after data of some areas that now have offshore wind turbines and see how it panned out there

I was referring to eagles but the article seems a bit dubious.
