Port Arlington ting 31/8
Did a trip yesterday arvo to port Arlington, dropped the boat in at Werribee south and tried for yakka for snapper season got 20 and then switched to try for tings not expecting much but around 5pm the crazy bite started and ended up with a bag to 38cm and threw back around 5 or 6 around 30 cm back in to grow, turned out a great arvo

Re: Port Arlington ting 31/8
Over the years I've tried for whiting from Altona to wedge spit in the colder months without any success so instead of wasting time trying I just go over that area
The water temp is about 1-2°warmer from Port Arlington to Queenscliff in the shallows ,maybe due to the extensive weed beds or being influenced by the warmer ocean currents in winter, also I have found a lot of the weed areas around wedge spit die off or turn brown during the winter which the whiting may not like
It's not that far across from Werribee to Portarlington which is 15ks and takes around 25mins when calm
