I reckon they are also catching KGW off the pier there at Saint Leonards at the moment.I went 6 weeks ago but time was not ripe then.

I was at the pier last night till around 8PM and the kgw were pretty quiet. Normally they fire up on the dusk, but despite the NE wind the water was crystal clear. Plenty of baby squid, in the evening 10-15cm and a few larger models (managed one 30cm and one 35cm). Quite a few people caught smaller ones (saw 15 caught total), I ended up with four ~15cm, 2 ~25cm and one 30cm, one 35cm.

Few mackerel firing up on the dusk and the occasional trevally swimming by. Great night!

Ill be putting a post up later highlighting this weeks fishing @ Lenny's pier. :-D

If you're there at the pier in the evening Wednesday, be sure to come over and say hey. I'll be there after work trying for flathead + squid.

Update from the past week:

Quite a few mix sized squid, Friday (caught 8 four under 25, four above) and then Sunday (caught 4, two 25+, two smaller).
Flathead, friend caught 1 Friday, saw another nice one caught Sunday. Soft plastics working best.
Trevally are around, firing up at dusk and into the night.
Plenty of scad/yakka around.
KGW are a little quiet, hopefully Wed's EAST wind and warm weather brings them in.

Not just at st Leonard’s. I’ve often done well with them in murky water as well.
Cheers 👍🏻
