St.leonards whiting 8/7/19

Post by fishnut » Mon Jul 08, 2019 10:48 pm

With an offshore wind forecast and high tide at 7pm i couldn't resist another sess on on ting with the same tide as 2 weeks ago
Got to the ramp around 2pm and was greeted by an offshore wind around 12-15kn
Tried for squid as we needed some for bait but was hard going with the wind but managed 2 small ones
Anchored up around 3pm on my mark and had the first hit not long after and the frequency of the bites got insane to the point we could handle only 1 rod
We enred up with 34 up to 40cm with the bigger ones coming on closer to dark
We threw back at least 10-15 smallish ones even though legal
Back at ramp at 5.45pm only to find someone had damaged the light bracket on the trailer whilst reversing and just pissed off whithout leaving a note

Great report, always fun when they keep you busy. Sorry to hear about the carelessness of other idiots, I too had some idiot reverse into the side of my car and left a false number on my wipers. Now I have a censored dash cam for front and rear view, they cost a couple hundred but can sting any culprit that hits and runs on you.

Nice Report fishnut. Spoke to a friend a couple of days ago who struggled to find them at Lenny's, I was getting worried they may have made the move. Good to hear they are still firing!

Best time to fish them is an hour after low tide, thats when I've found we've been getting the results and also in the evenings.
