Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

Dictator Dan’s banning of fishing and boating while allowing other activities is arbitrary and inconsistent with the other states. It enrages me that Dictator Dan sees fit to put my life is on hold, I have a deep suspicion of the efforts to shut down daily life to slow the spread of corona virus, th...

Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

I must be very prescient because I have been practicing social distancing for years, when someone anchors too close I let them know by telling them to f--k off and find their own bit of water. It especially pisses me off when I have sounded around, got the berley in the water and finally start catch...

Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

The national cabinet meeting is scheduled for later today, hopefully dictator Dan sees his way to lifting his ridiculous fishing and boating bans. I am tired of this gross infringement of my civil liberties. Other states allow fishing and boating, check the NSW webcams, people fishing off the bank a...

Re: We are off, winter fishing Lakes Entrance

Funnily enough I went out from Lakes this morning too, only not so early, but boy it was still cold. Before the lock down I had been getting a few whiting and flatties so I went to check out the spot, and hoping for a stray gummy maybe. The water had cooled off so the action was slow, I was fishing ...

Re: Through the heads and cruising Bass Strait

I have been through the rip in my boat, a 4.5 m tinny, you need to pick a day with a small tide range and a favorable weather report. Go out on slack water and if the swell is up pull the pin and don't do it. I have done lots of bar crossings and can say the ability to call it off if it looks a bit ...

Re: Covid-19 discussion

All forms of discrimination are wrong, be it racism, sexism, ageism and Etc. Having said that I see little difference between encouraging mass gatherings during a pandemic and encouraging people into the bush during periods of extreme fire danger. Both are irresponsible and place the community at ri...

First frost of the winter

First frost of the winter, boy it's too cold for me to get out, I must be getting soft in my old age. Apparently it's the coldest June day for some years, I was hoping that global warming would kick in so I could catch Spanish mackerel in PPB. Oh well, maybe the move to Qld will be on after all! Che...

Amazing feat of survival.

Good news story, how about the kid lost near Mt Disappointment for 2 days, he finally was found, and was in incredible good health. If it was me I recon I'd be gone halfway through he first night. Amazing story of survival in near freezing conditions.
Cheers
