Re: Rainy sesh
What technique and lure(s) did you use? I'm struggling to get breams on lures in Docklands The most reliable method has been drifting cranka crabs around structure, no matter what the conditions it has always caught me fish, I've found that a zman crusteaz rigged on the lightest possible jig head a...

I can't comment specifically on what the VFA does but having worked at hatcheries producing fish for stocking I can provide an insight into how the numbers are estimated. For the smaller fingerlings/fry (native fish) they are counted into the delivery tanks with scoops, like those used to drain past...

Re: SURVEY OF FISHERS AND BOATERS GETS UNDERWAY
I think I heard somewhere that once a sample size gets over about 800 or so adding more participants doesn’t give you any more reliability as long as the sampling method gives you a random sample. As part of the safety management on the PWCs for my work with Gippsland ports, we had to do three jumps and swims of 25 meters each year. This was done in clothes with an auto inflatable jacket. First jump was with a working...

Re: Soft Plastics Newbie
I’m not familiar with that specific rod but it sounds about right (as long as it’s light and fairly fast action) and 10lb braid is fine. Should match with a 2500 reel. If you use some 8-12lb mono leader and a 1/4oz plus (as light as the conditions will allow but still able to get a reasonable cast i...
