Re: Stage 3 lockdown

When metro had stage 3, we were able to fish locally. Closest water to home. If you're questioning it in your head of how far is closest, then you're already wrong. If in doubt, don't. Because you're risking yourself to have an argument with the police and might end up with $1,652 fine. And ofc it's...

Re: Surprised at how "dead" this forum is.

The best part of the forum is the search function. I've been a long time lurker. I didn't create an account because there were good quality threads answering every potential question I had. There is so much good timeless information. What's probably missing is more trip reports to keep engagement up...

Moorabool this morning

Short notice decision. Full moon, fog, no wind. Reddies, reddies, and more reddies. 10-15cm. Me and mates, various flies, various lures. Just small reddies and reddies. Re: New all rounder set-up - What do you think?

Welcome mate, I think you've come to right place looking for a versatile setup for chasing a mix of fish species and calamari, using jigs, soft plastics and the occasional bait. I reckon you're pretty spot on, voicing Sebbs advice, for a rod/reel that you're constantly working you'd definitely want ...

Re: Waste of time/money stuff

Nah, some things are worth the investment. You could either but a decent quality squid jig which will last 1000s of squid with a little tlc; or go to Kmart, spend $2.50 and then spend what you saved on superglue. They'll both catch squid, but one will last a lot longer than the other. EGI rods - If ...

Re: Waste of time/money stuff

The cheap gear paired with an experience fisherman will catch more fish than an amature with all the fancy stuff but if you can afford the high end stuff it's just more pleasant to use. Sometimes it's just about the bragging rights showing off the newest model and flashing your pride to the other f...

Re: Waste of time/money stuff

I don't agree with braid and shinny lures. Some people like to fish for other things rather than Whiting and without them you will struggle. I would like to add egi rods to the list though Nothing wrong with egi rods either. I find with the longer rod and specific taper I can make the jigs dance ni...
