Re: WP top end Snapper sat 14th

How shallow can you get around in on a kayak? Rudder under the rear probably touches around 20 cm or a bit less and that can’t be lifted like the rudders on the stern But 30 to 40 cm is easier for some sort of paddle stroke Sat around 10 ish about the lowest water we had was 35 cm just near the Too...

Re: Re-entry onto a Kayak - Options?

Buggati as far as safety and legislation is concerned its probably best you comment on what you know. Seb the main differences between a plb and epirb is that an epirb has to float antenna up, has longer battery life once activated, is registered to a vessel rather than an individual and is a legal...

Re: Safety - EPIRB/PLB, flares, essential?

Read the weather, check tides, currents etc and go within your capabilities BUT if you’re not confident go with others more experienced and if you’re fearful/afraid or timid then stick to piers and LB A bit harsh ! I don't think there is anything fearful about trying to your self as safe as possibl...

Cheaters Skiff

Well my last boating project was a strip built kayak and not really some one that work with wood I'm happy to say it both floated and paddled really well IMG_1437.JPG this was my first go at building something that floats So time for a new project so this time one with a motor and so I sketched up a...

Re: Cheaters Skiff

Damn cheaterparts, impressed! Do you envision it to be less complicated than the sit in kayak? It should be a quicker process being a stitch and glue boat over a strip build and to be honest it's more like what I'm use to except the panels are wood not steel and the welds take longer to go off apar...

Re: Cheaters Skiff

I got a small amount done this week end on the skiff - between other bits and pieces that needed doing around home as the marine ply come in 2400 long sheets and I need 4300 long by 600 for each side bottom -- so I scarfed the bottom planks and got them glued up IMG_1673.JPG the scarf is a 8 to 1 ta...
