Re: Warmies 23/12 21:00-10:30

Good stuff mate, shame about the fishing. I wouldn’t recommend tasting the water at the Warmies, especially after rain, hopefully it’s fine.

Re: Under the Westgate 28/12/20

Nice mate. I have fished that area many times but never caught a mantis. Looking forward to seeing some pics.
Cheers 👍🏻

Re: Under the Westgate 28/12/20

Had no idea under the west gate could be that productive in variety of species. Especially mantis shrimp.
I fished there few times and usually nothing but pinkies, flathead and bream.

Good stuff, well done.

Inconsiderate fisherman

Driving past the Tarwin before and saw a heap of activity on the surface so I pulled over during a little break in the weather to flick some plastics amongst it hoping to tempt a few EPs I guess. Anyway, not a touch as usual. But the amount of rubbish left on the bank by previous fishermen was a dis...

Re: Inconsiderate fisherman

Thanks mate, it’s not a hard thing to do is it. Wouldn’t mind if they left a few hardbody lures amongst the rubbish.

Slide baiting technique.

Someone (I think Dazz or Sebb) asked about slide baiting the warmies in another thread. This is by no means a complete description of the technique but more a summary of what I'm doing and some ideas about that spot in particular. Merely a share of my opinion and experience and in no way do I consid...

Re: Bike fishing setup

Hiking backpack, can fit a 7 foot 2 peice rod and gear inside it with only a small out of the rod showing unless you open the bottom and that drops out abit more space for you. Swap to lures/sp for this as you wont have to deal with bait juice from your hands stinking up the bag as you move stuff ar...

Re: Maybe it was a mulloway?

Did you have a 2 hook rig? The best by far is when you have a snelled second hook that slides up and down the leader so you can adjust the length according to the size of bait you are using. For me, a fillet of fresh mullet on that rig has always produced. And as Seb said, low tide change after dark...

Port Melb's Princess Pier quick flick before lockdown

Went to Port Melb after work while waiting for mrs to finish hers. 5-6pm, moon was still full round and huge, not the full 100% super blood moon like yesterday but was still pretty cool to see it peaking behind a cloud above Spirit of Tassie. . IMG20210527182220_resize_99.jpg . 2-4kg rod, 2500 spin ...
