Re: I desperately need help with fishing!!
Some basic advice for all anglers. Use small hooks most of the time. If you are getting bites and no hookups your hook is probaably too big or the point and barb are hidden in the bait. Use the freshest possible bait(s). I like fresh squid for almost everything. Use the lightest possible sinker to a...

Re: Is this site becoming redundant?
Smart move don't think you require an app dougie you manage to catch plenty of fish. One of Melbourne's iconic land based anglers f&cked up hard when he had his website made with photos directly uploaded from his phone. He was always super careful not to put any identifying features in the pics, bu...

Re: Gunnas wind
We get down from time to time. Honestly since we started LBGing we do much less beach spinning and much more rock fishing, plus he's spending a fair bit of time boat fishing these days. Get yourself a 1.5oz GT Icecream from Busted for some surface action. They are unbelievable and have replaced the ...

Re: Gunnas wind
A NNW moderate is forecast for sat morning. Wondering g whether its worth going in this wind. Been a while since went so can't remember winds last time You might be ok but it's a decent crosswind. If the swell is low try and keep the line in the water to avoid massive arcs that make it hard to hook...

Re: In case you havent heard yet
Hey guys.
I'd like to offer a guided service to land based fishing at Gunnamatta.
Cast at the water. Reel it back in.
That'll be $400 each please.
Pick me up on the way and I'll have a long black no sugar.

Re: Early Season Snapper 2019
Start fishing the ocean ledges very late august into mid sept. Once they get going in the bay it's harder work off the rocks.

Re: Snapper fishing may be banned for three years in SA
I could of bagged out on Salmon on the weekend but thought i had enough and went home. Some limits seem over the top to me. The Aus salmon limit baffles me. WTF you gonna do with 20 sambos? I know man. They were all around the 45cm mark. I kept 8 because i like to use fillets for bait but ill also ...

Re: New Landbased Spots for Spring
This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion but rock fishing really isn't that dangerous unless you're completely unaware of what it is you're getting yourself into. I've taken my 11yo stepson rock fishing dozens of times and the risk is only really as bad as you want to make it. There are an ...
