Williamstown/Docklands
I fished willi and docklands from a mates boat last week for a few fish and a great day on the water. Spot locking around the rock walls and docks we ended up with a nice flattie, a few small pinkies and a couple of bream in the mid 30s on plastics. Mainly using zman creature style plastics on light...

Re: Whats tour favorite snapper rig?
Winter on the pinkies. Running sinker 3/0 hook. Anchor up and fish with a slack line. a very flexible rod helps keep the fish on. Let the fish take it and pull a little line. Then hold the reel and hit it to set the hook. Summer and early Autumn paternoster. 5/0 hook tension on the line and get read...

Keeping, Freezing and Thawing our catch
Just sharing a few tips that I found work for me with "keeping", "freezing" and "thawing" my catch. Keeping and Dispatching Firstly, I always try to (80% of the time for fish BUT 100% of the time with Crabs) try to dispatch my catch in an ice slurry. For those unaware, that's ice and a little sea wa...

25/6/2019 Squid Session
Hi Guys, this is a report from a few days ago. With some nice calm days forecasted for earlier on in this week, I got a call from a mate of mine to try for some squid locally. We both arrived at the ramp around 1:30pm and after launching, headed over to a spot we have done well in the past. The wind...

Re: Battery replacement
Testing a battery with a multimeter only gives you half a picture of the batteries condition. You really need to get it load tested to see if its delivering the CCA its rated for. Sometimes if a cell is bad it will still read above 12v but will not deliver the CCA for cranking. Its probably good pie...

Re: Gillies squid jigs
I've caught plenty of squid on cheap Gillies and Mojiko jigs - when the squid are hungry they will smash them just as quick as anything else. They don't last as long as good quality jigs though, and the sink rate can be inconsistent so if the squid are being fussy they will catch less than decent ji...

Re: How much it cost to taxidermy snapper?
The plan in my head : Step one : catch a big snapper, like a really big snapper worth mounting Step two : dont worry about step two and beyond, do step one first. Step three : focus on step one one first! Step four : back to step one first seriously. One must learn how to walk before running. Years ...
