Re: Quick tip

I always carry my outboard flush muffs and a small bit of hose in the boat though, so I can flush it anywhere I can have access to tap water.. As an add on to this, its good to carry an anti vandal tap key, that way you can sometimes use the council taps that dont have a handle on the tap. Just mak...

Re: Your Tackle Box Setup

This is from before i took possession of the boat. I have made some changes such as a bait board mounted on the engine well. Some folding cup holders here and there and enough vertical rod holders mounted on the stainless steel rails on both sides of the windscreen to carry at least 4 rods each for ...

Re: Rust repairs

I used to be in the State Emergency Service back in NSW and our unit had 3 or 4 boats to operate in flood water. I started driving these when i was 16 and my favourite one was an old De Havilland 16 or so footer that leaked like a sieve. After a while water would start coming up over the floor from ...

Re: Squid grounds St Kilda and Elwood

You could launch at St. Kilda and head over to Williamstown. Excellent squid fishing to be had there. Im not too sure about the capabilities of your boat, but its only about 3nm across and at 15 or 20 knots this will only take you about 10 minutes. Its usually a fairly sheltered passage unless its b...

Re: A wtf moment

So many things going wrong here that i dont know where to start! Check out the videos on Youtube for Haulover Inlet. I made a comment on one of those videos recently that almost nobody crossing that bar wears a lifejacket and that the law here requires you to. Some American replied that we must be g...

Re: Squid grounds St Kilda and Elwood

You can get squid straight in front of StKilda Marina, but it's not very productive to be honest. wow! is it common to get them there during the day? I have been looking for a local squid spot since I don't own a car haha. If your not in a boat you’d have to cast out a fair distance (plus they won’...

Re: Job keeper plan

We found out pretty quickly that my employer does not qualify for the Job Keeper payment, even though they employ hundreds of casuals, many on a full time basis, just at my workplace. And i found out today that i am officially not able to get the dole. Still waiting to be redeployed within the compa...

Re: Squid grounds St Kilda and Elwood

No different to catching squid around the rock groynes near Sandringham harbour.. which i used to do before i got another boat. You might lose a few more jigs, you just have to be a bit careful. Edit: I used to travel all the way to Sandringham to fish.. not knowing that i could probably catch squid...
