can i catch squid at princess pier? I'm new to fishing so i don't know much :-D
I’ve fished from that pier many times but never seen anyone fishing for squid!
Great pier for many other species though like snapper/salmons/flatties/gummies…😃

Re: fishing rod reel combo for soft plastics

If you want to save money then look at the savage gear combos that are sold in a box, most bcf stores have them and they are clearing them for 80 odd bucks.
You get a rod, reel spooled with braided line plus some plastics and jigheads in the box.
Excellent value for beginners!!

Re: New to fishing...have a question?

A 1000-size reel is ok for 30 cm cod, don't want to use it for bigger fish or the chance of them dying from exhaustion is high.
