Finally got a boat
Hello everyone, done a bit of fishing since I was a kid but to be honest, I always found shore fishing quite a chore. Mind you, rock fishing was quite stimulating. Finally bought myself an old Swiftcraft Seagull a few months ago, and had it out on the water (Westernport) for the first time a couple ...

Re: Understanding the GPS coordintes in the fishing books
Thanks Sebb. I've been looking at some of those but cannot find one that shows this exact format for entry. After some more Googling I'm fairly confident the format of the three numbers are DEGREES MINUTES DECIMAL (of the minutes), or the DDM format (degrees and decimal minutes). If that's the case,...

Re: Finally got a boat
Thanks everyone. Yep, already wanting a bigger boat LOL, especially since I put a 108 litre ice box in. Wow, where did my deck go, although it did give me an extra couple of seats. I've just removed the drivers seat to give a bit more space as it was too low anyway. Replaced it with a box I stand on...

Last time I was there, some grumpy old man got angry and shouted at my boy because their lines got tangled. He got a piece of my mind...

Surprised at how "dead" this forum is.
I joined this forum a few weeks ago because of it's focus on Victoria. However, I've noticed there's very few new posts, which is very surprising given how popular fishing is. It's also surprising because so far I haven't came across any assholes, and anyone who I've seen responding has been nothing...

Let's talk Whiting how-to
Never caught a Whiting yet, but I've been checking out Google and Youtube for info. Heard Whiting are a year round fish so why not give them some attention. Some of what I've read/watched are: Don't fish in the weed, fish on sand patches just outside the weed. Keep quiet when in shallow water as Whi...

Westernport deep water berley bucket.
Just completed this berley bucket but it's as yet untested. Still thought I'd just show you in case you wanted a laugh. The cord is Dyneema, and rated at about 120 kg, but it's very thin. I'm guessing braid may be made of this. Got it off Ebay, and I think it gets used on big kites a lot. Hopefully ...
