Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman
The way the Yarra is at the moment, dirty and fresh, keeps the fish on the bottom. By far the most productive method for the Docks is using the Ecogear VX 35 or the Strikepro A18 vibes. Drop it next to a pylon and give it a couple of quick lifts (about 200mm max) and then pause. Repeat at least 30 ...

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman
Tea bagging blades at night at the docks works well, especially in the colder months. Doesn’t take much - just gentle lifts so you barely feel it vibrate and decent pauses in between lifts. With the micro vibes mainly looking for them to take it on the drop - wouldn’t bother too much tea bagging tho...

Opened the account with a bang! 26/10/2021
With beautiful weather forecast for Tuesday, me and my mate headed out for our first proper big red session. The plan was to look for a few squid first just to add to our variety of baits. We launched quite late from st kilda around 10:30 and went to a couple of our usual squid spots but the water w...

Docklands 29/10/21
A mate and I headed out for a session at Docklands yesterday in the aftermath of Thursday night's storm, fishing from 3pm - 10:15pm. As expected, the water was fairly discoloured and there was a lot of rubbish washed up on the rocks behind Marvel Stadium. The going was slow but there were bites here...

1/11/2021 arvo session.
Having had a cracking start with a nice big fish last week, my mate and I decided to launch again to see if we could find a few more reds. This time we launched around 2pm and went to look for some fresh squid first. Once again the water was quite murky! We tried a couple of spots we usually get a f...

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman
Well done, persistance paid off. You should also try to just raise the vibe about 6inches off the ground and tap the rod but vigorously for a few seconds and then let it hit the ground, wait 10 seconds and repeat

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman
Well done mate you're persistence certainly paid off.
Your next problem will be dealing with your Docks addiction, mine lasted about 10 years!
What Sebb said x2.

Nong Dec 22 after work
Just a quick flick after work during slack tide at the Nong around Footscray. Water was clear enough after the heavy rain we had few days ago. 1-3 rod, 2000 reel, 6lb braid, 4lb fluorocarbon leader. A mate armed with crank crab, and I had strike tiger 2 in grub in black with 1/16 jig head. I blame t...
