Me and a mate are going to give it a shot tomorrow morning and I was wondering what time of day is best for whiting? We were g...

Re: 2021 Snapper Season

Tried Black Rock again yesterday at sunrise. Water was pretty filthy and 13.5deg. Got hit by Pinkies again but his time came home with a good sized flathead and a couple of big Ting as a bycatch.
Be interested to hear from anyone who has tried Williamstown over the last couple of weeks.

Re: Lowrance sounder query

Snapper are the red arches sitting inside the bait school which is the big yellow patch. Also visible is the small structure/reef right above the 20m marking, which is what's holding them all there, hope you marked that spot. They are not biting because they are more than likely feeding on those bait.

Re: Lowrance sounder query

I'd say yes, they're fish. They didn't hit so they're not feeding. Finding them is one thing, get them to eat and bite is another story.

Re: 2021 Snapper Season

I went out Tuesday evening with a mate. Was planning on trying some spots around Mordi 10-12m to keep away from the masses but failed to sound up anything worth trying. Ended up sounding along the 8-10m from Ricketts to black rock and found some nice arches. My god I’ve never seen so many boats. Th...
