Some flexible cement glue applied to the braid leader join that cures under sun or UV light.

Hope you got the full tube of glue or was the $15 for them to attach the leader and glue it

A lot of rod models like that. Its kind of normal.
Keep using it and it'll eventually wear off and will fit. Even if it doesn't, it won't affect much on anything. Don't stress too much about it. Apart from it looks weird, its not "harmful".

Funny you bring this up I was talking to a mate about cars and the subject of lead came up and he said his dad left him loads he used to make his own bullets.
He dropped some off last week so I knocked some out today 1,2,3 and 4oz ones
