Re: Large HB's for Reds - PPB shallow
I tried a big rapala once, trolling around port melb in Nov, didn't get any reds, but got big pikes. Whats the 12HB you used for pinkies in 5-8m? Hey Sebb, it's an old Rapala (a Mangum from 2010 I think?) - originally a three-treble but I've removed the middle one and put two larger trebles instead...

Re: Daiwa Beefstick Z vs UglyStik Gold II
I'd go yak fishing when the weather is nice and the water is flat, where normally be a lot of people fishing on piers etc. And fish the piers when the weather is a little rough, less people fishing off piers etc, and unsafe for yak fishing.
Exactly my logic behind the winter pier i...

Re: Offshore Wind Farms
I was in the UK and passed through a large wind farm - the amount of noise was something I did not expect. Offshore is a way of avoiding this problem. Offshore or landbased - apart from the noise, these things generate constant vibration that travels in all directions. Multiply that by x number of ...

Re: Black Magic Squid Snatchers - opinions?
I can't believe people actually put that much thought into squid fishing. We've been catching them for 30 years on some of the crappiest jigs you could imagine. It's far from rocket science :rf: :rf: On the other hand, there are forums dedicated to squidding, and super-pricey EGI gear too lol Whate...
