Rock life
Hi All, I had some pretty positive feedback and some pm's from a long post I made about rock fishing safety in another thread ( http://www.fishing-victoria.com/viewtopic.php?p=304136#p304136) so I thought I'd try and share some pics of some of the rock adventures i've had over the past 4 years of LB...

Re: Rock life
Sensational stuff, mate; what's the biggest fish you've caught off the rocks in Vic? (Just realised the forum timestamps are out of whack by some...) My first Vic King was also my biggest. 106cm and 9.8kg off the Portland lee breakwater on Australia day 2016. You can read the full report here. http...

Solo on the Stones
I'd like to preface this report with three important points. The first, an awful lot of the commentary on here is obviously meant to be satire, and not to be taken seriously. Second, if you are offended by swearing, have children with you or are at work, then this is probably not the report for you....

LB King
So after reading Carls report a couple weeks ago, last weekend i decided to check out a known spot on the island to see how fishable it was. It looked good So yesterday I headed out there for a crack with a mate. The first 6 hours wasnt ideal for ballooning as the wind wasnt right, so while waiting ...

Rock fishing/LBG Setup
Hi all! I'm new to fishing with a rod and looking at getting into the LBG from the rocks. I'm looking at buying the Daiwa Saltist 962 with a Daiwa BG 5000 reel from BCF. Is this going to be a good setup for throwing lures? Also, what size line and lures would you recommend? Thanks in advance! PS. It...

Launching tidal river / prom
Never been to Tidal River or Squeaky beach, which is weird considering I’m a gippslander, but plan to fish and dive around the prom a lot more this season than boring old WP... any tips to launching at Tidal River? I’m assuming it’s a beach launch into the surf?

Re: Rocks vs surf
I know you PM'd me but i'll put this up so everyone can see. The lake at Wonboyn is pretty difficult to fish. I've been down there a few times and never really caught anything. The Nullica river is sheltered from windy condiitions and full of flathead. Cam landed half a dozen of them there in about ...

Opening the 20/21 LBG account
Following what's been a horrific year in Melbourne, and a consequent 2 week delay when my car blew up, I finally made it away to attempt to open the 20/21 LBG account. Working at Aboslute until 9pm on Wednesday night, I -thought- I was organised enough to get up and get moving at stupid AM on Thursd...

Re: johanna
Couple of things. That beach is beyond Gunnamatta levels of dangerous. Be careful. The undertow is like nothing i've ever experienced. I nearly lost my best friend and his dog there a few years ago. I've hooked and landed plenty of Salmon on lures there and it's a renowned gummy spot as well. Could ...
