Hi all! I'm new to fishing with a rod and looking at getting into the LBG from the rocks. I'm looking at buying the Daiwa Saltist 962 with a Daiwa BG 5000 reel from BCF. Never been to Tidal River or Squeaky beach, which is weird considering I’m a gippslander, but plan to fish and dive around the prom a lot more this season than boring old WP... any tips to launching at Tidal River? I’m assuming it’s a beach launch into the surf?

Couple of things. That beach is beyond Gunnamatta levels of dangerous. Be careful. The undertow is like nothing i've ever experienced. I nearly lost my best friend and his dog there a few years ago.
