Intro
Hi all, been looking through this forum for quite a while now, and decided to make an account and make some reports/contributions. I fish landbased around PPB and the great ocean road, mainly targeting salmon and flatties, but have been recently getting into some squid, so I'm enjoying trying someth...

Re: New to fishing...have a question?
Can anyone recommend a good 'bang for buck' 3000 size spinning reel. Currently I'm using a 4000 Abu Garcia spinning reel (which is great) . Need another reel now to match a second rod, I know shimano rarenium are reported to be an excellent reel but my budget won't stretch that far at the moment, a...

Re: Cunningham pier 4/11/2019
Hey all, Was visiting my cousins who live up that way, headed to the pier at around 6pm, me on the lure and my cousins on bait. At around 6:15, third cast in, as I was reeling in my lure to recast a massive snook came out of nowhere and smashed it on the surface, it looked like it was as long as my...

Re: Beginner Egi Rod
Gday everyone, thanks for your advice on the rod. Settled with an Emeraldas MX 2508PE double handle and a Sephia BB S809M. Got the Sephia for 198 bucks and the MX for 290 in the CA Sale. Thought about the solpara and legalis, but for the price the sephia and mx were, couldn’t resist. Heading towards...

Re: Roadtrip from Adelaide to Melbourne
All beaches around apollo bay hold plenty of salmon even through summer. Use a paternoster. Squid and pillies are highlight baits, otherwise you can shoot some metals out. Great fishing down there, you’ll definitely get some.

Re: Potential lure fishing setup
I’d spend a bit more and get a legalis, though the aird is good. Personally I would use 6lb braid instead of 8 on a 2000. Haven’t used the veritas so don’t know about it. True, probably wiser to go for a 2500 for the fishing I do. Legalis looks good and is only a fraction more expensive, are there ...

Re: Surface cod
very nice cod mate, I'd love to target them but I don't have a functioning rod that can hold cod lures
